We often encourage those visiting New Zealand to consider staying in Farm Stays and Bed & Breakfasts because they are many times the best bang for your buck- providing opportunities for great fishing and a taste of true Kiwi hospitality.

Often when traveling overseas in a new country many will not take the time to truly have an authentic experience. However, by staying in purpose-built B&B accommodations, or on working sheep stations run by New Zealander families, you are immediately immersed in the country. Expect great conversation and hearty meals in addition to private rooms with en suite bathrooms.

Anglers will be right at home in these accommodations, as the caretakers are used to guests coming off of the river and in need of a cold beer immediately after hanging their waders. The local guides we prefer to use are well integrated with the caretakers and will meet you each day to take you fishing, perhaps even staying for dinner (especially if they are courteous and call ahead of time on the way back that night to give a head's up on their ETA).

Helicopters are like taxis in New Zealand, and always available for any fishing itinerary we set. However with farm stays and B&Bs there are usually plenty of local spring creeks and rivers in the area to access by vehicle and on foot.

For the chance to unplug and experience a small taste of yesteryear, these locations are your best choice.

Cost Considerations: Location, whether meals are included, and time of year will determine the ultimate tariff for these types of accommodations but you may expect a starting price from $250 NZD per night

We are able to provide a mix of accommodations and price points to suit your budget.
