I am finally back in reasonably reliable internet country , and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for arranging our spectacular trip! We are so grateful for all the hard work you put in. Everything has worked beautifully. People don't even ask to see our vouchers because you and your company are so respected and well known down here.

David, who is our only really good fisherman, and all of us have been thrilled with the quality of the fishing guides. We do realize now what a difference it makes to get top quality guides. Even Diane and I have caught fish, and Patricia has caught a nine pounder! But even those four pounders are the biggest fish I have ever caught, and they feel like a whale on the end of the line. The rivers are so beautiful and so remote, and we never see another fisherman when we're fishing. The system here is so different from the US, where there will be a fisherman every ten feet.

The overnight at Doubtful Sound was a highlight. Even David, the fishing nut, loved it. The beauty, the silence, the history, the incredible crew from the captain on down, the food, the fun, the comfortable cabins, the whole thing was really wonderful. Thank you for suggesting that. We loved the remoteness of it as we watched the tour buses heading up to Milford Sound, although most people said it's also spectacular. Staying at the Te Anao Lodge was a real highlight for me. The owner, George, is an absolute delight, and the warmest, funniest, most congenial host ever. And the lodge is wonderful. We loved the Southland and the people there.

I am sure you are in the middle of planning trips for fishermen for a year from now. It seems impossible that we have come to the end of our own magical adventure.
