Let us help plan your New Zealand adventure

As we start our 20th year of specializing exclusively in New Zealand fishing and travel, I wonder where the time has gone and how a country could change (for the positive) so much?

Although many choices are now available on the internet, our clients continue to rely on us for New Zealand trip planning because we are unique in the travel industry--New Zealand is our only destination!!

We are honored to again be one of Air New Zealand's largest agencies in the USA. This relationship brings a number of benefits to our clients.

  • We have the lowest airfares available (lower than the internet or consolidators)
  • enhanced ability to clear wait lists
  • the capability to obtain preferred seating arrangements
  • help track lost luggage if the problem should arise

Give us a call and we will be happy to quote an airfare and share these benefits with you.

Recently, I was honored to meet with New Zealand's new Prime Minister, the Rt. Honorable John Key, to discuss an important matter of mutual interest: economic conditions in the US that are causing reduced tourism to New Zealand.

Like the two previous Prime Ministers with whom I have met, (see photos) Mr. Key was very personable, and seemed interested in my comments on the US economy. (He was, however, noncommittal on my suggestion that New Zealand increase its advertising budget for the US market.)

Time for a Visit?

We believe anytime is a good time to visit New Zealand, but without question there are some very compelling reason to visit this coming season.

  • The airfares are substantially lower than last season (some of the lowest airfares I can remember)
  • the exchange rate is approx. 30% more favorable than a year ago

And while New Zealand is never crowded the number of tourist arrivals are also down.

Less pressure on the fish and larger fish as a result of the Year of the Mouse (see more details later in newsletter) what more could you want?

Keeping Focus

Fly Fishing is our central focus, but we are also experts in the many other activities and accommodations available in New Zealand.

We and accommodations that many of our clients enjoy combining with their fishing. We sell exclusive fishing programs; however, most of our itineraries include sightseeing and other nature-based activities of interest such as golf, winery tours, bird watching, hiking, sea kayaking, and lots of time to enjoy the scenic beauty of one of the most majestic island nations in the Pacific. We believe we know New Zealand and the quality products we recommend better than anyone. The lodge owners and managers tell us that no one visits them as often as our award winning Best of New Zealand team --not even the travel operators based locally in New Zealand.

We do not rely on guide books (that are frequently out of date), but on our own first hand experience and knowledge. Our five employees and I continue to visit New Zealand at least once a year. We visit an accommodation before recommending it, and spend time getting to know its owners and managers. The Best of New Zealand team stays in the accommodations, participates in the local activities, and samples the local cuisine. We personally check out your travel options before recommending them to
