These top specialist trout fishing lodges are the trout fisherman's dream come true. In the local sparkling rivers and streams, large wild, brown and rainbow trout fight and jump like nowhere else. The country's finest professional fishing guides will put you on to trout in local waters that average four and a half pounds. Each year a number of 7 lb. to 8 lb. fish are caught and released by guests. Helicopter to a back country river for the ultimate experience - the chance you might cast your fly to a double digit trophy fish. A variety of angling opportunities provide dedicated fly fisherman to the complete novice the fly fishing experience of a lifetime.

This program is created for anglers who have a limited amount of time and want to fish both islands. This program offers the opportunity to fish for Rainbow Trout on the North Island and Brown Trout on the South Island.
Tongariro Lodge:
The Lake Taupo watershed and central North Island rivers and streams are best enjoyed from Tongariro Lodge, set on the banks of New Zealand's most famous fly fishing river, at the foot of the Tongariro National Park on the shores of beautiful Lake Taupo. This handsome fishing retreat offers the finest in accommodation, food & wine and friendly personal service.
Presently, Tongariro Lodge anglers fish 5 lakes and over 30 rivers. There are a variety of angling opportunities for the dedicated fly fisherman or the complete novice.
Tongariro Lodge guides are among the country's finest and their knowledge and expertise of the flyfishing opportunities in the central North Island is unequalled. They run their own rafts, 4 wheel drive vehicles and boats. This, along with special Helicopter access to 19 rivers and streams, means they offer some of the best back country clearwater nymph and dry fly fishing for sighted rainbow and browns (average 5lbs and up to 14lbs) to be found world-wide.
Lake Rotoroa Lodge:
Lake Rotoroa Lodge, one of New Zealand's finest, is nestled in the northern extremity of New Zealand's Southern Alps. Lake Rotoroa Lodge is far from the crowds in this isolated, beautiful, unspoiled location surrounded by the forest of Nelson Lakes National Park.

Lake Rotoroa Lodge is ideally located in the heart of of one of the best Brown Trout fisheries in the world. There are over 26 crystal clear rivers by road and an additional 18 rivers reached by helicopter to test the skills of the most ardent fisherperson. Either on a dry fly or nymph, fish averaging 4.75lbs. (with many in excess of 8lbs.) are caught each year. It's the ultimate clear water stream fishing. Internationally renowned professional guides will show you the art of spotting, stalking and delicately presenting a fly to a big Brown Trout in spectacular wilderness areas.
Terms & Conditions for the Lake Rotoroa Lodge & Tongariro Lodge Two Lodge Package:
U.S./foreign govt. taxes, September 11th Security Fee and Passenger Facility Charge are included in price. Date change or rerouting after airline ticket is issued will incur a US$100 fee, per change, plus any additional fare which may apply. Airline ticket cancellation penalty is US$300 per person. Other restrictions may apply. No frequent flyer miles are earned on any of the flights. Seats on flights are limited and the length of stay in New Zealand can be extended. Offer valid until April 30, 2009.
