The Springs - Rotorua's Premiere Luxury Bed and Breakfast
|
The Springs was purpose built in 1998. The design is that of a 1930's New Zealand bungalow ensuring the property complemented the already established neighbourhood. The Springs is set in a simple yet elegant garden of white Iceberg roses and sasanqua camellias evoking a sense of restful contentment. Step into the impressive entry hall and immediately you sense the attention to detail. The historic photo gallery involves guests from the outset. Most admired are shots of the Pink and White Terraces, lost to the eruption of Mt Tarawera in 1886. These Terraces were then deemed to be a Wonder of the World. The Guest Wing, with four elegant rooms, is at the rear of the house ensuring a private, quiet stay. Each Guest Room enjoys identical size and facilities with ensuite bathrooms and a door to a private terrace giving access to the garden. Rotorua is a Spa town and each guest room is named after local fresh water Springs, Paradise, Rainbow, Rachel and Fairy. The King beds have luxurious mattresses ensuring a restful night's sleep, the duvets are New Zealand wool, the linens crisp cotton. The rooms come equipped with ceiling fans, central heating, clock radio, television, hairdryer, robes, walk-in closet with luggage storage, fresh flowers and complimentary Spring water. There is a daily laundry service available at a very reasonable cost. In the Breakfast Room the glass ceiling floods the area with morning sun and light. The table is set with fine china and linens. The Breakfast Menu includes The Spring's signature dishes such as French Toast, Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes, or Smoked Salmon Scrambled Eggs with Fresh Dill. The Guest Lounge with its decor of rich Autumn tones and a wood fire for cooler months, invites guests in to relax and enjoy conversation or restful, quiet times. The exquisite interior design was achieved by one of New Zealand's best designers, Laine Simpson and Darryl Church, architect, won an award for his sensitive design. |
