Huka Lodge

Lunch on the river

One of the most exclusive vacation destinations in the southern hemisphere, Huka Lodge provides standards of hospitality seldom achieved. The service is complete but unobtrusive, the cuisine and accommodation surpass all expectation and the location is idyllic. Originally developed as a fishing lodge in the 1920's, Huka Lodge has evolved to suit the most fastidious taste.

From Huka Lodge's elegant Lodge Room you can quietly survey the Waikato River just metres away and the 7 hectare reserve that shields Huka Lodge from the outside world.

Lounge
Bedroom

Sit here by the open fire as evening draws in and select the wine to accompany your evening meal - a set menu favoring local game and superb seafood which has gained a well-earned international reputation. You can choose to dine in the wine cellar surrounded by fine wines or in the dining room, the library or out on the terrace.

Guest accommodation is a series of luxurious individual lodges set in native bush near the river's bank: All suites have spacious bedrooms, dressing room, luggage area and glass ceilinged bathroom with, of course, hairdryer, heaters and bathrobes. At Huka Lodge there is an all-weather tennis court, petanque court, croquet and hot pool. The Trophy Room, situated upstairs within the main lodge, is ideal for cocktail parties and small meeting for up to 25 people.
