Introduction to the Best Of New Zealand Fly Fishing
Dear Fellow Fly Fisherman,
We have now specialized in fly fishing travel to just New Zealand for over sixteen years. Since my first visit in 1974 I have journeyed to New Zealand over forty-three times. On each trip I continue to enjoy and marvel at the unsurpassed scenery and beauty of New Zealand and the wonderful, friendly Kiwi hospitality.
During my trips I have met repeatedly with every lodge owner featured in this brochure. Together we review the prior season's trip reports from our clients, and assess how to consistently provide "The Best" fly fishing experiences in the coming season. Before I will recommend or continue to recommend it, I become personally involved with the services a lodge delivers to our clients. These trips are extremely worthwhile... and enjoyable.

It is my practice to send all our employees to New Zealand at least once a year to visit the properties we use and experience the activities we recommend. There is no substitute for being able to describe a property or activity from first hand experience. All the employees in our office have visited New Zealand. My staff have made numerous trips to New Zealand and have extensive experience (several of them have over 15 years) in organizing and selling travel to New Zealand. Since my first visit in 1974, I have personally journeyed to New Zealand over forty times -- including six trips in just the last year.
We believe we know New Zealand fishing & travel better than anyone else and invite you to benefit from our years of Kiwi research, relationship building, and experience.
Give us a call and let us help you plan your New Zealand trip. Whether its your first trip "down under," or a repeat, we will design an itinerary to match your interests and budget and gladly share our knowledge of New Zealand to help you experience the trip of a lifetime.
We deal directly with our lodges and guides. No inbound operators or middlemen fees are incurred by our clients. There is no extra charge for our consulting and other services and no hidden fees are added to the detailed, itemized invoices we provide each of our clients. Our clients pay the same rates as they would if they booked directly with the lodges, but they avoid the hassle, time, and expense and risk of trying to plan a Kiwi vacation without expert guidance. In addition, we are always on the look out for options to save our clients money
Once we have planned your trip our work does not end. We provide you complete detailed vouchers, maps & directions, contact names & telephone numbers to leave at home and office, suggested fishing equipment & flies, information on other activities and sightseeing, and of course one of our now famous The Best of New Zealand Fly Fishing hats.
While you are on your trip we continue to reconfirm your arrival times at the various lodges and with fishing guides; watch for changes in airline flight schedules; and make sure any special dietary requirements are looked after. We want to make sure you have a hassle free trip of a lifetime. When you return we ask that you complete a trip report so we can continue to evaluate the services provided to our clients by the lodges and guides. Customer satisfaction and quality control are essential to us.
This website features a client photo gallery to display all of the trophy trout photos sent to us by our clients. Special "Early and Late Season" Packages which include bargain airfares are listed under Hot Deals. A full selection of specially selected New Zealand fly fishing books are also available for purchase online.
New Zealand is a fly fisherman's dream, or an "Anglers El Dorado" as Zane Grey described it over 70 years ago. I first fished New Zealand almost 30 years ago and still regard it as an extraordinary fly fishing destination. I am proud of the quality of service we provide our clients. We produce our brochure and website in order to share with you the diverse and exceptional fishing opportunities available in New Zealand. We hope this website will serve as an introduction to this beautiful country, its big fish, and friendly people.
We look forward to serving you.
Sincerely,

Mike McClelland
